                      TheMessage of the Candy Cane

In the late 1800,s a candy maker in Indiana wanted to express the
meaning of Christmas through a symbol made of candy.
He began with a stick of pure white candy. White to symbolize
the Virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus.
He formed this candy in a staff to represent the "Good Shepherd"
Jesus is the loving shepard who came to the world to lift up the
fallen lambs who, like sheep, have gone astray.
The candy maker then added three stripes to show the
scourging Jesus received , and by these stripes we were healed.
The
large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ on the cross so
that we could have thr promise of eternal life.

The candy cane serves as a
lasting reminder of what
 Christmas is really all
about. It is a witness to the
 wonder of Jesus and His
great love that came down
 at Christmas and is here
  for you eternally.
