Yes, you can change anything using email, but it's not as
easy as using the web page.

First, all commands must be sent to the request address.
For this list it is gcfl-discuss-request at gcfl.net . If
you are only sending one command, you can put it in the
subject. Otherwise you can put one or more commands in
the body of the message.

To get more help and a summary of all the commands, send
the command 'help' (without the quotes).

To see what your options are, send the command 'set show'
(without the quotes).

To ask the server to email you your password, send the
command 'password' (without the quotes).

To change any options, you have to first send command
'set authenticate password' (without the quotes) with the
word 'password' replaced with your own password.

So, to turn off the option to send you a copy of your own
posts, you want to send an email as follows:

-----------
To: gcfl-discuss-request at gcfl.net

set authenticate password
set myposts off
set show
-----------

Of course, you should replace the word 'password' with
your own password.

The last command just shows your settings so you can see
that the option really got changed.

There, wasn't that easy! ;-)
