Lance,
      The problem with a third party on a congressional level is when you
get into coalitions and party agreements things get ugly and nobody is
willing to take a stand for anything and nobody is allowed to think for
themselves.  I would have no problem with a large number of independents
being in congress, just so long you don't really have more then two formal
organizations.  Now if you could get a more conservative party to replace
the Democrats.......
