Dear Yolanda
I hope everyone by you is well.
The gestation period for chicken pox is several days, so it is unlikely that
he caught it on Wednesday.  Sunday or earlier is more likely.
Anyone under 2 who catches it does not remain immune.
When I was a kid, my sisters and I all had chicken pox together.  It was a
rough couple of weeks for my mother, but then it was over. forever.  Until
measles.  We all had that at the same time also.

Dear Michigan Hockey Mom, the chicken pox were really really yucky!  He had
a very high fever for several days and I took him back to the doctor and he
said he may have had the pneumonia also.  So my duty as a loving wife was
to nurse him back to health.  I was off for two weeks from work and I don't
feel rested or as if I even had a vacation!  Well, I am just glad that my
one year old did not get the chicken pox.  She was just vaccinated.  And I
believe they came from a doctors visit that he made on a Wednesday
regarding his feet!  Because he started getting little marks on Thursday
and then on Friday they were full blown.  It was icky!  I heard they are
worse in adults.  I am not accepting about the gift.  My children got me
some wonderful items.  In my city they have a store where you can take your
kids with their list of people to buy for and give them a spending limit
and these nice old ladies take the children into the store and help them
pick out what they would like and then they help them wrap it, all while
you wait outside, so those gifts were really nice!  But the fact that my
husband did not get me anything does not sit well with me.  And the fact
that he was able to get to the Mexico Express to send a nice Christmas card
filled with $200.00 to his mother the week before Christmas does not sit
well with me either.  Nor does the fact that he is better (from the chicken
pox) this week and everything has been 50% off and he still did not think
to buy me anything.  But hey!  I'm okay,  I have learned this Christmas
that it does not do any good to moan and gripe to your husband about his
thoughtlessness.  Maybe he will make up for it in February, but I won't
hold my breath!

Your husband got CHICKENPOX?!?!!!  Wow!!  What a weird
Christmas, huh?  Hope his case was not too bad.  You don't
suppose it came from the kids' getting vaccinated, do you?

Maybe you didn't need to learn anything about Christmas -
you sound so mature and accepting about the gift situation.
