The flu did come earlier this year then other years.  However, the reason
for that is that they started pushing the flu shots earlier.  When you get a
flu shot not only are they using a live virus (and I have seen a number of
people get the flu from the shot) you are contagious for the next 24 hours,
UNLESS you get the nasal one.  If you get the nasal one you are contagious
for the next 2 WEEKS.  You can see why this would cause an early outbreak.
