Sam, I have a similar example. My sister-in-law asked her husband for money for groceries and he told her that he would "BORROW" her some money and she could pay him back at the end of the week! I guess that is "her bill" of the house. I pay certain bills and my spouse others, but if I need money I go straight to my husband and pull out his wallet. I don't have to ask (or beg for that matter). That is the way we are. :)

I am sure that in the bible there is something about a woman submitting to her husband and her husband submitting to her but time must also be for the Lord...
I think that the old testament was more rigid in terms of women and stuff.....
My personal opinion is....yes you should have a 50/50 relationship with your husband/partner....you should respect each other....
Interesting enough this gentleman at work was telling me that he never gives his wife money to spend...as in the money for the groceries or house stuff....they will have to go together......
(Now that couldn't work for me...not at all...I do the shopping in my household.)
He based this reasoning on biblical stuff...
  Sam

Hi all. This question is more for Rev Ev. I was outside working on the lawn when a church guy came walking by and asked me if he could give me a gift. I say a "church guy" because I do not know of what religion he was. He wanted to know if I was saved and I told him yes. He asked me if I was going to heaven and I told him "Without a doubt!" We spoke and he offended me because my husband is Catholic and he told me that Catholic's pray to the virgin Mary instead of to God. blah blah blah right? Well, he said something that struck me as odd. He told me that the bible says that the woman must OBEY her husband. Is this true? Because I don't obey anyone but God. My husband and I are in 50/50 relationship. He helps me with everything and I help him with everything. Help me out with this one. I'm baffled! :)

      Eric,
try Welchs. It is pretty good. Went over very well at my daughters wedding where no alcohol was served. You might want to buy and try a couple different ones. Best of wishes to you and your bride.

Ask in your local liquor store for sparkling grape juice. I picked "Kedem"
because that's what I am familiar with.

Where in NY are you? (I'm in Queens.)

        oh. Congratulations.

        greenBubble,
That is a good idea that I did not think of. I have never heard of
        Kedem Wines though.

Offer "Sparkling Grape Juice" for the toast. It can be every bit as
        fancy
as any other "bubbly". Kedem Wines has a whole line of them, that are
Kosher. I imagine that other wineries produce it as well. Put out 2
bottles and let everyone choose which he/she wants.

I have a question for everyone but first let me explain to you a
        little
bit. I am getting married in June 2 day s after my 21st birthday and 5
before I leave for the Navy. Ok now I have lived my entire 20 years
        of
life with out the influence of any drug what so ever (alcohol
        included)
and I am not against it I just choose not to drink or anything. For
        the
wedding everyone (my family & the brides family) says that it is a
wedding you have to have a champagne toast for the wedding. Being
        that
I have never given any thought to drinking and don't really care if I
        ever
do. Should I have a champagne toast or not. What would you guys do.

        Eric
