there are plenty of people (in religions and everything else) who say they 
are something that they're not.   just for example, a fair amount of people say 
that they're christian even though they don't have a personal relationship 
with Christ.   I was just pointing out that just because someone says that 
they're Catholic doesn't mean they go to church regularly or even embrace ideals 
concurrent with those of the Church.   
There are people in every religion who were raised in that religion when they 
were a kid but never kept it up once they reached adulthood and therefore 
even though they might claim to be a member of said religion they actually have 
no idea about the axioms of that faith.
