Reminds me of the one in which the American tourist in a German-speaking
country was perplexed as to which facility was which.

He found "Damen" and "Herren" on the doors, and concluded that the first
meant "Here (da) Men", and the second meant "Hers".

In case anyone doesn't recognize enough German,

Damen is closely related to the English derivative, dame,

and,

Herren is the plural of Herr, which almost any American would recognize
from
old movies as "Mister."
