A friend of mine was on a date with his (future) wife.  They were going
to dinner in a restaurant in a seedy neighborhood in lower Manhattan.
The only parking space they could find was surrounded by a group of
tough-looking young men.  Lacking an alternative, despite their
misgivings, they parked there.

After dinner, they returned to the car and were relieved to see the car
was still there.  They suddenly realized that the keys were still in the
ignition.  They got a wire hanger and were trying to unlock the door,
without success.  One of those youths asked them what the problem was,
and they explained.  He took the hanger and had it open in seconds.
