Jeanene, I've always pictured you as a 17 year old, well, really a 23
year old. Then, I remind myself you are really 40-something and a
grandmother. I wouldn't touch the Twilight series, but I have been
rereading Robert A. Heinlein's The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, one of my
all time favorite books. Who else could restore the good name of
Revolution, honor July 4, make bombing North America look good, and put
on a national flag the principle TANSTAAFL, in one story? (In case its
out of style, the acronym means There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free
Lunch, something we will all need to keep in mind while adopting
universal medical insurance and stimulating the economy). Nothing makes
for a successful revolution like having the Warden's computer on your
side.

Otherwise, I just ordered A Traitor to His Class, a biography about
Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Death or Liberty: African Americans and
Revolutionary America, by one of America's greatest historians, Douglas
R. Egerton. I still have to get around to John Adams (mom got me the CD
for Christmas), and finish Becoming Eichmann. Still thinking about
getting Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean.

In the way of books, what is on your nightstand right now?

I am half-ashamed to say that in the past three days I: finished
Twilight in less than 24 hours and re-read it the next day, was ravenous
and finished New Moon in less than a day, and am currently reading
Eclipse. This is the series of 4 books written by Stephanie Meyers and
on the reading list of every young woman/teen. I am fascinated by the
premise and have loved every minute detail of Edward, no scratch that, I
meant the story. Whew, I wish I was 17 again... I can barely remember
the feelings the author describes so vividly.

I might have to buy book #4 since my daughter is still reading it in
California and wouldn't let me bring it home with me today. I had a
three day visit with my one and only granson Shawn who is 20 months old.
I also visited with his parents, but the trip was really only to see and
play and read with him.

So, let me hear about your current book and what you think about it.

Jeanene
