I never felt any good reason to read Patricia Cornwell. I did start the
book version of John Adams that the movie was based on. When I finish it,
I'll watch the DVD.
Hope all is well with your son. I have three friends with sons in the
navy, some of whom I knew when they were in their teens. I guess you know
what the man meant who asked after the debates last fall "If Sarah Palin
doesn't think paying taxes is patriotic, who does she think is going to
fund the body armor her son and Biden's son need when they get to Iraq?"

Sad, sad, sad. I have now read book #3 three times in as many days. I
wish I hadn't returned the first two to my daughter... I started the new
Cornwell book 'Scarpetta' last night. Does anyone else read Patricia
Cornwell?
My son PFC Headlee, Joseph is being shipped to Iraq on January 30th. He
is a part of a month-long deployment of more than 10,000 troops to the
middle east.

Haha, I read right over the first book title and missed that fact. Thank
you Siarlys!

If I remember correctly recent reviews of a movie made from the first
book, they are about a teen vampire who actually falls in love with a
girl at his high school.

In the way of books, what is on your nightstand right now?
I am half-ashamed to say that in the past three days I: finished
Twilight in less than 24 hours and re-read it the next day, was ravenous
and finished New Moon in less than a day, and am currently reading
Eclipse. This is the series of 4 books written by Stephanie Meyers and
on the reading list of every young woman/teen. I am fascinated by the
premise and have loved every minute detail of Edward, no scratch that, I
meant the story. Whew, I wish I was 17 again... I can barely remember
the feelings the author describes so vividly.
I might have to buy book #4 since my daughter is still reading it in
California and wouldn't let me bring it home with me today. I had a
three day visit with my one and only granson Shawn who is 20 months old.
I also visited with his parents, but the trip was really only to see and
play and read with him.
So, let me hear about your current book and what you think about it.
