[GCFL-discuss] plane landed on NY highway

When I first heard about it, I couldn't imagine how it was possible.  No traffic on the Deegan?! Unheard of!
Sunday the radio kept repeating - all day ad nauseum - and I realized that that's how it happened.

I read that it happened without mishap, but only because it was on the NY Times web page. I didn't see anything about the pothole crew, I thought they just landed in the direction of traffic, which wasn't too heavy at the time, and the cars managed to move around them.

As the plane was approaching, a pothole repair crew saw them coming and stopped traffic to leave a clear space for the landing.
