This Week's One in a Million Prayer Focus:
Seekers, Finders
"The expression of seeking the Lord . . . implies that God himself is the great good desired and sought after . . . and God's granting this promised revival and restoration is called his being FOUND of them."-Jonathan Edwards
Scripture
"Keep on seeking, and you will find" (Matt. 7:7, AMP).
Prayer
Father, for Your glory, advance Your kingdom on earth by uniting Your people to seek You. Grant us a revival of the Spirit of extraordinary prayer. In Jesus' name, amen.

Hurricane Katrina
As God guides each of us to serve and assist in the disaster relief efforts, please lift up these related prayer requests:
General Requests
a.. Pray for the many displaced people who are now deciding whether to stay in their new locations, or try to go back to where their homes once were.
a.. Pray for those who attempt to go back home as they deal with loss and damage to life and property.
b.. Pray for those who decide to relocate to new areas as they face incredible transitions and deal with their losses.
b.. Pray for communities that have received evacuees, especially those that are increasing their population by a third or a half. Pray they will be able to develop the infrastructure to deal with this influx of people.
c.. Continue prayers for people to receive the physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance they need. Pray for restoration of water, food, communication, and transportation.
d.. Pray there would be no outbreak of disease and that those needing medical help would receive it.
e.. Pray for perseverance in this relief effort in the coming weeks and months. Pray that God will continue to provide volunteers in all areas, to provide hope and encouragement where needed, and rest for the weary. Pray for safety for those onsite in the relief and rebuilding areas.
f.. Pray for excellent communication between all the relief organizations so that the resources God provides can be utilized to their maximum capacity.
g.. With adults more prone to accept Christ when they are experiencing crisis, pray for the hearts of the lost to be prepared for the dedicated Christians sharing hope of eternal life in this short window in time.

2 - Houses of Hope
Harry Lewis
4200 North Point Pkwy.
Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176
www.namb.net
Pray for the churches who are volunteering to serve as Houses of Hope for evacuees. This unique opportunity will make housing of all types (gyms, campgrounds, missionary housing, conference centers, hotels, etc.) available to those who have no place to stay. Pray that resources of food, medicine, and clothing will also be provided for these people.
3 - Adopt-a-Church
Harry Lewis
4200 North Point Pkwy.
Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176
www.namb.net
It is reported that as many as 250 SBC churches have been destroyed or severely damaged. Adopt-a-Church is a new ministry in which NAMB is striving to help churches, associations, and state conventions in the affected area link with churches across the continent in helping restore churches in the storm-ravaged areas. Pray that churches will come forward to partner in this effort for up to 24 months.
4 - Intentional Community Evangelism
Victor Benavides
4200 North Point Pkwy.
Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176
vbenavides at namb.net
Pray for Victor and the Intentional Community Evangelism Team of volunteers who are in Louisiana this week. Last week in the Mobile, Ala., area they led 31 people to Christ. Pray God multiples their efforts with many more salvations.
5 - New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary
862 Columbia Dr.
Decatur, GA 30030
www.nobts.edu
The New Orleans Seminary will be moving their student body and faculty to Atlanta and other campuses temporarily so they can continue their seminary studies. Pray for housing for them. Only a little over 50 percent of those effected have contacted the Seminary at this point. If you are able to help, please send an e-mail to nobtsfamily at yahoo.com. The school will contact you and sincerely appreciates all the offers of help already received.
6 - Evonne and Paul Boggs
National Coordinators of START
P. O. Box 6248
Chesterfield, MO 63006
rv4jesus at yahoo.com
Pray for the efforts of Evonne and Paul, coordinators of START (Strategic Training and Resource Team), as they promote short- term mission opportunities (like Disaster Relief). Most of their time now is spent in the Disaster Operation Center, but they had been preparing to publicize and conduct regional training for Telephone Encouragers in the St. Louis area. Pray the word gets out, God prepares hearts, and provides a way for those He wants to be a part of this critical ministry.
