If you worry about a "spammer" hitting the archive then why bother to archive it?? Why not just hold the discusions for a small time frame then delete them. This does not seem like something people would go to look back on like a joke they got a week ago and want to see it again. To me a discussion is something of the moment. Not everbody will feel the same but that is what makes us individuals right.

Me too. But there's always a possibility that a spammer
will subscribe to the list just to collect more email
addresses. However, this list is probably going to be
small enough that it won't be a target for a spammer, but
you never know.

One other thing. Right now all the messages posted to
this list are also archived at
http://gcfl.net/pipermail/gcfl-discuss/ and if we go
non-anonymous, that could be another way a spammer could
get the email addresses.

The teacher of the earth science class was lecturing on
map reading. After explaining about latitude, longitude,
degrees and minutes the teacher asked, "Suppose I asked
you to meet me for lunch at 23 degrees, 4 minutes north
latitude and 45 degrees, 15 minutes east longitude...?"
After a confused silence, a voice volunteered, "I guess
you'd be eating alone."
