Posh, when you say

God is real. He is a friend, a father, and a listener. 
When someone is that real to me, I WANT to dress my best.

You have said all that needs to be said. That is from the heart, and that
is what you choose to do. Just because more casual dress is not looked
down upon does not mean you need to "conform" to a "casual dress code." I
think Romans 14 covers it.
