[GCFL-discuss] Beautiful Georgia!

Carla,

Well, my husband is still waiting on a discrimination lawsuit to finish up,
so we are hoping it will be this summer. We are tired of the cold (from
October to April) and the heat bill that goes with it. He has many
relatives in Gainesville, and we went to visit last spring break (and hope
to go again this spring break) and I loved it. Didn't love my in-laws, :)
but I loved the red dirt, the mountains, the warmth, etc! It was
beautiful. I signed up at hgtv.com to win the Dreamhouse 2004 which is
located in St. Mary's, GA right next to a marsh. That would be cool to win
a house and SUV and then move, but with the settlement we MAY be getting,
we can build our own house! :) We were thinking of the possibility of me
coming in the summer with the kids and him waiting out the lawsuit because
he doesn't want to be here another year and I refuse to move the kids in
the middle of the school year. But hopefully it will be this summer.

I love Chicago also, but I could never live there. We go and visit every
once and a while. It is only an hour and 45 minutes away (depending on how
one drives). We live in Rockford (born and raised), which until this years
Census was released was the 2nd largest city next to Chicago (now it is
Aurora and we are third). It is a really nice big city, and it doesn't
have all the hustle and bustle (not to mention traffic) of Chicago. I was
born and raised here. Almost all my family is close, I have a sister next
door, my mom in Freeport (20 minutes away) my brother and sister-in-law in
Beloit (30 minutes away) and a sister in Davis (20 minutes away). Then my
last two sisters are down in Carbondale at SIU. That is our stop over
place on our drive to GA. It is six hours from here, and then about
another 7 hours from there to GA. So I get to see my side of the family
and he gets to see his. I am still kind of torn between leaving everything
that I hold dear to me and moving to a place where there is everything he
holds dear to him. But I am open to change and I would love to try
something new, especially if it is warmer!

Toodles!

Well Dave, I am in IL and the weather has been -2 below zero with the wind
chill being -20 below. The kids can't wait for the bus outside. I have to
keep my heater turned up to 75 (can't wait to see that bill). Today we
will have a Hi of 10 whole degrees with a wind chill of 0. Yippee! Can't
wait until we move to Georgia!

 Dave
Has all the cold weather we hear about in the northeast getting you too?
You do live in PA right? Is Valley Forge anywhere near where you live?
