Dave, I actually have more respect for Reagan than for Gov. Schw., but I
think the current California leader may do more good. Reagan offered his
own genuine thoughts and principles that he deeply believed in. I don't
at all, but he was sincere and sincerely motivated. Arnold has never
shown great capacity for thought, witness the statement "I think gay
marriage should be between a man and a woman." OK, that is a slip of the
tongue, but, I still haven't seen any evidence of thought. His campaign
speeches, at least what I saw on TV, were nothing but platitudes with no
content. But he was more or less put forward by a team of people with
some competence, while he won votes because he was a recognized movie
star. I read somewhere that George Washington, John Adams, Thomas
Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, would all be failures in politics
today, due to various photogenic deficiencies like pock-marked face,
squeaky voice, short stature, rotundity (fat), etc.
