Did you happen to see that TV show several weeks ago about taking a group of
modern day people and putting them back to 1628 to experience how life was
in the past. I think that it was on PBS. Life was not easy for them. They
didn't hunt but they had to plant crops to survive. They didn't do  well at
all and if it was real they  wouldn't have made it with out help from the
Indians. People born back then wouldn't know different but life was hard and
work for the common man was continuous, all day. On average they didn't live
as long and they lost a lot of babies through illness and poor diet.
