Yolanda,
I attend a church but, do not have a religion.  The name on the building does not make the church, the people who gather together inside make the church.  I grew up Pentacostal and was for most of my life, but now God has sent me to this place of worship and family of His.  
Do you attend church with your husband at all?  Yes I am now a practicing Catholic, but most of all I am a sinner saved by grace who finds her stength every day in Him.  As I watch my 39 year old son waste away, becoming paralyzed more each day, I find that I need Him more than ever.  As He did when my brother-in-law was murdered and my son-in-law drowned 24 years ago He is still holding me up.  He is still walking me through each day and still giving me the strength I need to be there for my son, my husband, my son's father, and the rest of my children.  
He will do the same for you if you give yourself to Him, accept the Lord as your Saviour, if you haven't already, and seek His direction for your life.  Life is hard, but life can also be so beautiful.  My son is dying, but every time I see his beautiful smile and he teases me as he always has I know that it will be okay, even after he goes before me to heaven.
