[GCFL-discuss] Gas Prices

I doubt very much if the oil companies can be choked to death by one day
of nobody buying gas. But, they would deserve it if it happened. I don't
own a car, so I will of course not be buying gas that day, and they will
not notice my continued absence.

There is nothing in the oil market that remotely resembles supply and
demand. It is a controlled cartel, in which the producing countries play
one role, and the international marketing companies (none of them with
any particular loyalty to the U.S. or any nation) play another role. The
gas prices at the pump today are as phony as the prices Enron charged
California for electricity in 2001.
