I've read some of the Apocrypha, and I don't personally find it of great
value in terms of revelation from God. Its mostly historical accounts --
but a several chapters in Judges and Chronicles could be described the
same way. There are professors with doctorates who will offer almost any
opinion on a subject like this -- I would like to know who established
what on whether the Apocrypha were included in 300 AD.
As I noted, the Ethiopian Coptic Church, one of the oldest Christian
churches in the world, included 83 books in its Bible. The point remains:
what is included in the Bible has been different in different centuries,
places and churches. So "its in the Bible" is not what makes a Scripture
authoritative, the presence of divine revelation in the original context
is.
Some people who have studied Aramaic Bibles say THAT offers the most
accurate understanding of the true meaning of Scripture. I wish I knew
all those languages, and Hebrew, but until I do, I will be careful about
claiming that I know exactly what it all means and who is saved and who
is not. I have enough to do dealing with my own relation to God.
