I agree, and wish every American would go on a short trip to a country like Guatemala, Colombia, Argentina
and see how others live close up!  I have done this and it has changed my perspective.  I saw women in Guatemala carrying wood on their heads to cook their family meal, and they were glad they found it.
I saw stores with only a front, no sides to the building no roof or back wall.  Bare dirt everywhere.  
Many Americans are rich by the world's standards and don't even realize it.  
I believe you have to experience it for yourself, seeing it on TV doesn't have the same impact.
