Well, I feel pretty good about kicking off such an amicable discussion.

I think Lewis is awesome too, but I can't claim credit for what he wrote.

greenBubble, I won't try to wrap a cloud of dust around an impenetrable
forest by trying to explain the text all over, but Lewis was basically
saying that fashion experts have given us an ideal image of what a woman
SHOULD look like (and they've done that to men too) that has little or
nothing to do with what most women (and men) actually DO look like. This
creates all kinds of unnecessary anxiety.

But this discussion started around a joke, and it was funny, so I don't
want to talk it to death. Frank made a nice addition.
