As you say, this Thursday and Friday are Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
It is a very solemn holiday, ushering in the 10 Days of Repentance which
culminating with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement on Sept 25.
This is followed by the festive, 9-day holiday of Succos (Tabernacles?)
starting on Sep 30.
On Rosh Hashanah we spend most of the day in prayer followed by a festive
meal. In my synagogue the main service starts around 7:30 AM and ends after
2, with a 20 minute break.
To answer your specific question, I am not a cantor, but I am an "anything
like that". I do expect to perform a certain part of the service, as I have
for the last 15 years or so.

Hey greenBubble,
Are you planning anything special next week? Besides, its a very serious
time of year for you. Are you a cantor, or anything like that?
