[GCFL-discuss] football

Personally, I have zero interest in football. (Baseball is another story.)
Why is it called football, anyway?
My first exposure to the game was in 6th grade. Everyday, before class,
four of my classmates used to play touch-football with the eraser.
I used to watch in them in absolute puzzlement.
For me the big thing about Super Sunday is that everyone is home (or
wherever) and nobody is driving. I usually spend a week in Washington about
this time of year (where I am now) and most years either the drive down or
the drive up is Super Sunday. I 95 and the NJ Turnpike are empty.

I only really pay attention to football when the Packers are in the final
round -- after all, the Super Bowl was originally invented to give the
Packers one more game to win every season. But I would have liked to see
Pittsburgh take it all this year.

Yes the Eagles can beat the Pats, not really a big fan but I will watch it
(the game) for the commercials. I do think that one guy should sit the
game out, if he tears that tendon again that will be the end him. Millions
down the drain for him.

Yes we really got hammered with the snow, 12 inches and bitter cold, at
least for us. Our winters aren't usually cold for long. We will be going
down to 7% tonight and are looking for more snow Sunday. Sure glad that we
don't live up North.

Babes are doing well and we are looking for #4 in August.

Hey Dave
Are you a football fan? I was kind of hoping the Steeler's would win as
well as the Eagle's. But, it was not to be I guess. Do you think the
Eagle's can beat the Pats? Or, do you care?
Did the big blizzard get you as well as every one else in the N. E.?
Frank
