Discussion of the Good, Clean Funnies List

I am always disappointed by any candidate I ever voted for, and for some
years, I stopped bothering to vote. I called the 2000 election
"Anti-Christ vs. the Blob," featuring GWB as Anti-Christ (he always
reminded me of Damien in OMEN III), and Al Gore as The Blob, because from
his days as a conservative southern congress rep from Tennessee to his
days as a liberal vice-president, he had literally taken every
conceivable position on every conceivable issue. But, when I saw what a
disaster GWB was, I regretted not bothering to vote for someone less
damaging.

I totally agree Both candidates missed the boat on this one! Both made
some bad calls on that debate. I was very disappointed with them.

P.S. I have to note though, since no candidate is my exact clone, and
each person thinks differently than every other person, they are bound to
do some things differently than I would if I held the office. And there
are reasons I probably could not get elected, even if Jeanene agreed to
be my campaign director. Until we have pure government by referendum,
which might also be a disaster, we have to settle for the best of the
imperfect fools available.
P.P.S. If anyone really wants to know,
Al Gore once boasted to a rural southern audience "I have grown tobacco"
...
Al Gore first made Willie Horton into a campaign issue (running in the
primary against Michael Dukakis)...
Al Gore was uncompromisingly anti-abortion when he ran for congress,
effusive about protecting a woman's right to choose when he ran for
president...
