This reminds me of the story of an American exchange student living in
France for a year. She was eating dinner with her host family, and
someone asked if she would like a second serving. She replied "Non, je
suis pleine." that literally translates, no, I am full. They were shocked
and horrified. The commonly understood meaning is "I am pregnant." To say
your stomach is full of food and can take no more, you say "J'ai pleine,"
which literally means "I have full" or maybe "I have fullness." Its all a
matter of which part of your abdomen is full, and why.
