Subject: Huntsville Ramada - Operation Restoration
Ramada Inn on South Parkway is being renovated to house approximately 300
evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. The Ramada Inn has 140 rooms that have
been empty for almost 5 years. Without power or air conditioning you can
well imagine the amount of mold and mildew that exists in many of the rooms.
The Rock Family Worship Center's Manna House, local churches, businesses and
individuals are working to clean, paint and otherwise restore the hotel to
make it fit for habitation. Volunteers have made significant progress on
restoring the first 40 rooms, but they would welcome additional help. They
are also looking for "Adopt a Room" sponsors. This is an opportunity to
help furnish the rooms with everything from personal care items to the
