I heard Sen. Edwards in Milwaukee today, mostly because I was there to
leaflet the crowd for the frontrunner in the primary to fill a vacant
congress seat -- Gwen Moore is going to be excellent. Out of respect for
other opinions, I will refrain from referring to Edwards in the future
tense in the words by which he was introduced.

He worked the crowd well -- all friendly of course. There were about
twenty people across the street chanting for four more years of what we
have now. As often happens in presidential elections, his wife impressed
me the most. She talked about how divided America is, and how we need
leadership that can unify us, not exploit our differences. Case in point,
Edwards and Kerry did not rip each other apart during the primaries. Good
thinking. Now if they can apply that to the country -- sort of a
political does of aloe vera to heal the wounds. Not so far fetched.

I had an idea during the end of 2000 debacle that Laura and Tipper should
flip a coin, one becoming president and the other vice president. I won't
say anything more conclusionary. I expect a very positive campaign.
