As federal courts have had occasion to point out, the Bill of Rights
forbids federal and/or state governments from infringing the rights of
citizens. It says nothing about what parents may establish or infringe in
the upbringing of dependent minor children.

Parents may, for example, establish what religion their children shall
practice, deny their children the free exercise of any other, require
children to incriminate themselves, infringe their children's right to
keep and bear arms...

...and the childrens' rooms are not entitled to be secure from parental
intrusion in their homes and papers.
