My eight-year-old daughter and I were in the public restroom at the Mall.

She put soap on her hands and waved them under the faucet.

She sighed.

Then she waved her hands more frantically under the faucet.

"Mom, this thing is broken."

As I helped her manually turn on the faucet, my mind flashed back to the "old" days when we always had to use force to "make" the water come out.
